Install Epson iProjection App for macOS

Free yourself from the podium in classrooms with Epson projectors. Epson projectors support wireless connection using a Windows or macOS laptop, iOS, or Android device with the help of Epson's iProjection app. To check if your room has an Epson projector, refer to the Epson projector room location document. 


To install Epson iProjection for macOS:

  1. Download the latest version of the Epson iProjection app.
  2. Open the downloaded file, then double-click the "iProjectionInstaller.pkg" file. If prompted, select "Allow" to let the program run.
  3. Continue through the installer and choose "Agree" when prompted.
  4. Select the type of application to download.
    • For Instructors: Select 'Standard Edition'
    • For Students: Select 'Participant Edition'
  5. Select Continue and Enter your COMPUTER password.
  6. Close the installer once the "Installation was successful" prompt displays, and choose 'Move to Trash'
  7. Right-click the 'iProjectionV401_MacOSX' icon on your desktop and choose 'Eject'.
  8. Launch "Epson Projection Ver 4.01" from your applications folder. 
  9. Click through the prompts to agree to the terms, select "Advanced Connect Mode" and check the "Set this Connection Mode as the default mode..." option, then select OK.

In-Depth Walkthrough


Step 1: Download the Installer

Download the Epson iProjection app for macOS.


Step 2: Launch the Installer

Open the downloaded file and click on the 'iProjectioninstaller.pkg' file to launch the iProjection installer.


If you are prompted by the following pop-up stating, 'This package must run a program...' Click Allow to proceed.


Step 3: Agree to Terms

The installer will open and run. 1) Select Continue and 2) select Continue. Read the agreement and then 3) select 'Agree' to continue.


Step 4: Select an Edition

Before you start the installation process, 1) you must choose the relevant application type based on whether you are a student or an instructor.

  • For Instructors: Select 'Standard Edition'
  • For Students: Select 'Participant Edition'


Once selected, 2) select Continue. Make sure the 'Install for all users of this computer' option is highlighted and 3) select Continue to proceed.


Step 5: Enter Your Computer Password

You'll be asked to enter your COMPUTER password to proceed. This is the password you use to log in to your Mac, not necessarily your Cardinal Apps password. 

Note: Do not remove/edit the top Username field of this pop-up, or else you'll need to run the installer once more.


Step 6: Close and Move to Trash

Be patient. After a few moments, depending on the age of your device, the installation will be complete. 1) Select Close and then 2) choose 'Move to Trash'.


Step 7: Eject

Next, find the 'iProjectionV401_MacOSX' drive on your desktop. 1) Right-click the icon and 2) Select 'Eject "iProjectionV401_MacOSX"


Step 8: Launch the App

To proceed further, we must launch Epson iProjection and configure some additional settings. You can find and open Epson iProjection by either searching for it or going to Finder > Applications > Epson iProjection (folder) > Epson iProjection.


Step 9: Configure Settings

Upon the first launch, you'll see some unique menus. If prompted, 1) Select 'Agree' to any privacy or license statement. Finally, we need to adjust the connection preference. Since we are in an educational environment, 2) select 'Advanced Connection Mode' and 3) click the "Set the selected Connection Mode as the default mode..." box. This will prevent this pop-up from appearing on every start-up. Lastly, 4) Select OK to complete the installation and setup.
