Current, Past, and Future Enrollments

The Canvas Dashboard and the "All Courses" list functions rely on course participation along with Start and End dates set by the instructor. The course behavior on the dashboard operates as follows:

If viewed before the Participation Start date: The course card is not displayed on the Dashboard and shows on the Future Enrollments of the All Courses list.

If viewed during the Participation Start and End dates: The course card displays on the Dashboard and shows on the top of the All Courses list.

If viewed after the Participation End date: The course card is not displayed on the Dashboard and shows on the Past Enrollments of the All Courses list.

Any courses that appear differently than described here are due to the selection of the "Participation" setting as "Course" without entering any dates. This prevents Canvas from correctly identifying courses as future or past. An example of this exception is shown below.
