Get Started with JMP
JMP is a statistical software program designed to facilitate data visualization, exploration, and analysis. It’s particularly valued in educational settings for its interactive and user-friendly interface. Unlike traditional statistical tools, JMP allows users to explore data through visualizations and interactive reports dynamically. This hands-on approach helps students and educators grasp complex statistical concepts more intuitively. With its powerful data manipulation capabilities and support for various statistical methods, JMP is an effective tool for teaching and learning about data analysis and statistics.

Go to jmp.com/student.Select Get JMP for free!

Select Get started at MyJMP on the instruction page.

1a. You will be asked to sign-in to your MyJMP account. If you don’t have one, select Sign Up.

1b. Provide the requested information.
Note: You need to use your email address from your academic institution.

1c. Enter the verification code sent to your email.

1d. Read and accept Terms of Use (if prompted).

2a. Provide the requested information regarding your affiliation with your school.

2b. Click Start to verify your academic status.

2c. Enter the name of your institution and select from the list provided in the dropdown. If
your institution is not listed, select Can’t find your institution? You will be prompted to provide an email address. You need to use your academic email address. A verification code will be sent to your email in that case.

2d. You’ll be sent to your institution’s unique login page to verify your affiliation with your school.
Login with your username and password for your institution.
Note: JMP does not receive your login credentials.

Some users may be asked to provide additional proof of eligibility and be directed to a page to submit proof. If so, see step 2d(1) in the Appendix.
Some users may be initially blocked from verification and will be required to complete a form to release the block. If so, see step 2d(2) in the Appendix.
3a. Once verified, you will be automatically sent to the download page showing the available software associated with your MyJMP account. Select the JMP Student Edition icon.
If you do not see this page, log back into your MyJMP account at https://my.jmp.com.

3b. Choose to download the correct version for your operating system.

3c. Double-click the installer downloaded onto your computer to launch.
3d. Follow the steps for the operating system selected to install JMP Student Edition.
Installing JMP Student Edition for Mac operating system:
MAC 1. The JMP Installer will be downloaded to your computer.
Depending upon the speed of your internet connection, this may take a few minutes. The file will appear in your Downloads folder.

MAC 2. Open the JMP Installer by double-clicking on the file.
MAC 3. The JMP Installer window will open. To begin the installation process, double-click on the JMP.pkg file.

MAC 4. Follow the steps to install JMP Student Edition by selecting Continue. Next, click Install. Click
Close when completed.


Installing JMP Student Edition for Windows operating system:
WIN1. The JMP Installer will be downloaded to your computer.
Depending upon the speed of your internet connection, this may take a few minutes. The file will appear in your Downloads folder.

WIN2. Open the JMP Installer by double-clicking on the file.
WIN3. To begin the installation process, confirm that you wish to allow the app to make
changes to your device by clicking Yes. Then choose Setup to extract the installation files.


WIN4. Follow the steps to install JMP Student Edition by selecting Next. Click Install and then Finish
when completed.

Opening JMP Student Edition
When you launch JMP Student Edition for the first time, you’ll be prompted to activate it by logging into your MyJMP account via your email.

A verification code will be sent to your email. Enter it and then click Verify.

2d(1). If you were sent to a page that is not associated with your institution to verify that you are a student, faculty, or researcher at an academic institution, complete the requested information.

2d(2). If you got a message saying that your request cannot be processed, you will be sent to this form to provide additional information so we can process the request.
