Best Practice: Store Videos in OneDrive, Not Canvas Files
Storing video files in OneDrive instead of uploading to Canvas Files is recommended:
-
No file size worries: OneDrive supports large video files that slow Canvas down.
-
No storage impact: Videos stored in OneDrive do not count against your Canvas course or personal user quota.
-
No permissions issues: Students enrolled in the course are automatically given permission to view any video linked or embedded with the OneDrive app in Canvas.
-
No video assignment struggles: Students can use the OneDrive for Students app in Canvas to submit video presentation assignments or share video links in discussions.
