Set up Cardinal Apps Multifactor using Microsoft Authenticator App
To add a new Multifactor Authentication option, click > MyMFA If you are a VPN user you MUST have your "Default sign- in method" Set to the Microsoft Authenticator. 1. Sign in with your UIW email address > Click Next > Click Next 2. If prompted, Sign in with your UIW credentials 3. You will be prompted to start the setup process. Click "+ Add Method" 4. Choose Authenticator App from the Drop Down Menu > Click Add 5. Click Next 6. Move over to your Cell Phone and open up the App Store 7. Search Microsoft Authenticator > Install the App > Open the App 8. Once the App opens, Agree to the Privacy Statement 9. On the next screen, Click on Scan a QR Code 10. Return to your computer and complete the process 11. Click Next 12. Aim your phone at the QR Code on the screen and let it Scan 13. Microsoft Authenticator will send a prompt to your phone to Approve 14. Approve the Pop up on Your Cell Phone > You will now see a green check that the Notification was Approved 15. Click Next 16. Click "+ Add Method" Again to add a 2nd Method. 17. Choose Phone and Enter a Phone number to be used as the 2nd method for Authentication 18. Click Next 19. Check your phone for the Code 20. Enter Code 21. Click Next 22. SMS will be verified > Click Next 23. Your account is now Secure! > Click Done

Set up Cardinal Apps Multifactor using your Mobile Phone
If you are a VPN user you MUST use the Microsoft Authenticator app. See the instructions to set that up here: Microsoft Authenticator App Visit Cardinal Apps Sign in with your FULL email address Click Next In the lower left-hand corner, click on "I want to set up a different method" Click Next Click the Drop Down Arrow Choose Phone Click Confirm Enter your mobile phone number Click Next Check your cell phone for a Text message Enter the 6 digit code provided to you *Make sure you use the code inside the text and not the number the text comes from.* Click Next Click Next Success!! You have set up your Multifactor using your Mobile Phone! Click Done

Resetting your Password for Cardinal Apps
Before you begin... 'Method 1' of this walkthrough will cover resetting your password from the login page of Cardinal Apps. This method will need to be followed if you can no longer login to the Cardinal Apps portal in the case that you have lost/forgotten your password, or it has expired. 'Method 2' of this walkthrough will cover resetting your password from within Cardinal Apps. This method is ideal if you can still login to the Cardinal Apps portal, as it's quicker and more convenient. ***Disclaimer: You can only perform self resets IF you have already completed your Multifactor setup. Please visit one of these 2 articles for the steps to set up your Multifactor. Authenticator App OR Mobile Phone. You MUST use the App if you are a VPN user*** Method 1: Resetting your password outside of the Cardinal Apps portal Step 1 Visit Cardinal Apps and enter your FULL email address. Click 'Next' to proceed. Students email addresses end with an @student.uiwtx.edu while employees will end with @uiwtx.edu Step 2 Instead of entering your password, click on the 'Forgot my password' prompt. Step 3 Next, enter some information to get back into your account. Enter your UIW email address (The same email used in step 1) Enter the letters or characters in the picture to prove you're not a robot. Enter them exactly how you see them. Use the volume icon () to listen to the words/letters if you have issues viewing them. Click Next to continue... If you receive an error after clicking Next, try entering the information again. Step 4 Next, you'll need to approve the reset via one of your preferred security methods. Choose an option on the left side that's convenient for you, and follow the instructions to receive a text, call, or notification to approve the reset. Not all reset options pictured above will appear for everyone, but there will be at least one option to choose from and follow. Step 4a You'll only see this next pop-up if you have a second-stage security verification setup on your account. Continue to Step 5 if you see something different. Like in step 4, choose your preferred option on the left (text, call, etc.) and follow the steps it provides to complete the authorization process. Step 5 Create your new password. Enter it in both fields and click 'Finish' to complete the password reset process. Step 6 Use the 'Click here' link to get back to the login page. Login with your new password. Method 2: Resetting your password within the Cardinal Apps portal Step 1 Login to Cardinal Apps portal using your UIW email and current password. Students email addresses end with an @student.uiwtx.edu while employees will end with @uiwtx.edu Step 2 Click on the arrow down () icon next to 'My Apps' in the upper left, and select 'My Account' from the drop-down menu. Step 3 On the newly loaded page, click the 'Password' option found on the left sidebar. Step 4 You'll be taken directly to a page to update your password. Enter your old password and then create a new one. Click 'Submit' to finish. Once you've successfully reset your password, you'll receive an email notification to your UIW inbox.

New User Cardinal Apps Set Up
Visit Cardinal Apps Sign in with your FULL email Student: username@student.uiwtx.edu Employee: username@uiwtx.edu Students: Check your email for an email that contains your email and temporary password. You will get this email 2-3 days after you pay your confirmation fees. Enter the password Re enter your temporary password Create a new Password. Passwords must contain: 8+ characters, Uppercase, lowercase, a number, and a special character (!@#$%^) Click Next to proceed to the Multifactor set up. E-Mail Encryption
1. Log in to Cardinal Apps 2. Click on Employee Mail 3. Click on New Message 4. Click on the Sensitivity Drop Down and Select "University of the Incarnate Word - Encrypt" Complete email message and send. When sending to a non-UIW email address, those users will have to follow the steps below. 1. Click on Read Secure Message to view the email 2. Click the red button that says "Sign in with a One-time passcode 3. Check your email for code 4. Enter Code and click Continue 5. How to bookmark a site in Cardinal Apps
Visual Guide Written Guide Step 1 Head to Cardinal Apps and login with your UIW email and password Cardinal Apps link: https://apps.uiw.edu Step 2 Click on the 'Edit' button toward the upper right of the page Step 3 Click '+ Add a site' Step 4 Give your bookmark a name. This can be anything you want, but it's recommended you name the bookmark after the website you're bookmarking. Step 5 Enter the URL (link) to the site/item you want to save on Cardinal Apps. You can use copy/paste to accomplish this. If you do not know how to copy a link and paste it elsewhere, see this article on the many ways to use copy/paste on your computer. *Your link will automatically create an app icon for the bookmark, there is no way to change that icon. Step 6 Click the 'Save' button to save your changes Done! You'll find the shortcut/bookmark now displays as an app on your Cardinal Apps dashboard. Your icon and name will look different than the one pictured (left), but you can tell if it's new by the three lines in the upper left corner of the icon.
