Share EchoVideo Content With Individuals
The media you own in the Library is yours to do as you please, including sharing it with other EchoVideo users. Sharing an item with another EchoVideo user makes that item appear in their Library, though it does so with your name on the tile because you are still the owner. When viewing shared media owned by someone else, your options are different. for more information on viewing items that have been shared with you, as well as what actions may be possible on shared media. The person who owns the content retains control of who it is and is not shared with; you can un-share content by clicking the X next to a user's name in the Individuals sharing list on the Media Details page. To share media with an individual: Log in to EchoVideo through Cardinal Apps or the EchoVideo portal directly. If you are logging in via the EchoVideo portal, use your UIW email address to log in. Contact the UIW Help Desk if your email is not recognized. Select "Library" Hover over the media you wish to share, and select the ellipses button to choose "Share" Select "Individuals" to enter the user's email address in the "Share with" field. Select "Done" to share the video with that user. Step 1 Log in to EchoVideo. This can be done by opening the EchoVideo app from within Cardinal Apps, or by going directly to the EchoVideo login portal. If you are logging in through the EchoVideo login portal, use your UIW email address and select "Sign In" to proceed. Note: If you receive a "That email does not exist" notice, contact the UIW Help Desk. Step 2 Within EchoVideo, select the "Library" tab. If you are an administrator, you will need to change your role to "Instructor", "Scheduler", or "Scheduler". Step 3 Hover over the thumbnail of the video or media content and select the ellipses button in the bottom right of the video tile. Then, select Share from the drop-down menu. Step 4 You will now see a screen labeled "Share Settings". To share content with someone: Select the "Individuals" tab. Enter the student's email address with which you'd like to share this video and click "Enter" or "Return" on your keyboard. If the email address exists in EchoVideo, you will see it populate. Select "Done" to complete the sharing process. No results? Check for spelling and make sure the email ends in @student.uiwtx.edu if it's a student. Done. Now, only that individual can access that piece of media, except for the person who shared it. View EchoVideo Livestreams in Canvas
Some departments or programs may configure classes to be live-streamed in real time. Watching a live class is nearly the same experience as a pre-recorded (or video-on-demand) class. The main differences are: The live stream cannot be rewound or fast-forwarded; it is happening in real time. You can show or hide the stream, and you can mute the stream. Due to your network connection speed, your live playback may fall behind real-time events (potentially becoming out of sync), in which case, a catch up button will become available. To access a live stream in EchoVideo: Log in to Cardinal Apps and open Canvas LMS. Navigate to the course being live-streamed and open EchoVideo. Find the class with the Live button next to the title and select the class to open the livestream. Select Show Live Stream Need more detail? Step 2: Open EchoVideo within your Canvas course Go to the Canvas course that is being live-streamed and open the EchoVideo menu. When the EchoVideo menu loads, you will see a list of recordings available for the class. If the class is currently happening, a signal icon is displayed to the left of the class name. If the class is scheduled to be live later, a gray LIVE badge appears to the left of the class name. Step 3: Launch the live stream Select the LIVE button to launch the live stream. Note: If you see the Live button but it's greyed out the scheduled recording has not started yet. Check the start date to the right of the video and check back later. Flag confusing content in an EchoVideo recording. I can only see one screen in the livestream. Look for the layout button in the video player. This will adjust the display that EchoVideo chooses to show. If you cannot find the layout button, you may be on a mobile device such as an iPhone, iPad, or Android tablet. Viewing live classes on mobile devices, using the native browser, is limited to a single channel, even if the stream itself is recording multiple screens.
