EchoVideo Overview
EchoVideo is available to the Health Profession Schools for video management and scheduled lecture captures in academic classrooms. Usage varies by school but often includes submitting a request to a campus contact for scheduling. EchoVideo also offers a complete video management solution, allowing instructors to create, store, and share video content. Engagement tools allow students to flag confusion points, take notes, and post questions for discussion. Instructors can assess students with integrated polling within their videos and upload related slide decks. EchoVideo Availability EchoVideo is available to instructors and students in the Health Profession Schools (HPS). Instructors access EchoVideo through Canvas or Cardinal Apps. To enable it in Canvas, edit the course menu options to add EchoVideo 1.1 and then click the link to provision the connection each term. Students access EchoVideo through Canvas or by Echo360 Login. A downloadable recording application is available for Windows and macOS devices. Tech support is provided by the UIW Help Desk. EchoVideo Considerations EchoVideo depends on the classroom computer and AV equipment supported by IT. Consult your campus technician for guidance on school processes to confirm the lecture capture request form is used for scheduling lecture captures in the classroom. EchoVideo does not increase Canvas course storage. Students can access videos from the course menu links and instructors can embed videos using the RCE app option or via shared links. An EchoVideo capture can be livestreamed and viewed in real time for special accommodations or synchronous lectures. Instructors can connect OneDrive with EchoVideo to automatically share MS Teams meetings recordings with a class. A delay can be set for the posting policy to give instructors time for editing, such as 24 hours. The built-in media editor allows trimming recordings to make edits, particularly in cases of privacy concerns, without having to re-share. Instructors have analytics to track student video engagement. There may be a problem with your recording space or device. Contact your campus technology specialist or the Help Desk. Why is the wrong screen being recorded in my capture? It seems there are a couple of potential issues causing this: For personal captures, it's possible the wrong input source was selected. For scheduled captures, there might be a problem with the default settings in your classroom, or the recording software itself may not be functioning correctly. Can I track student engagement with my videos? Yes, EchoVideo provides detailed analytics on how much of a video each student has watched and overall engagement with video content. Learn how to view analytics from the media dashboard.

Embed EchoVideo Media in Canvas
Note: This guide is for Windows, macOS, or ChromeOS computers. The EchoVideo embed options aren't available through the Canvas mobile application for iOS and Android. EchoVideo provides a media embed button (also called an "easy embed button") that appears in the Rich Content Editor of Canvas content windows. This button opens the EchoVideo embed menu, which provides the ability to: Embed media from EchoVideo directly into a Canvas course. Upload a media file then embed it as a single process. Create new media with Universal Capture then embed it in a single process. Post a link to the media (instead of embedding it) into Canvas. Create a playlist and embed it directly into Canvas. You can access the embed menu from anywhere with the Rich Content Editor in Canvas. To embed EchoVideo media into Canvas: Open the area in Canvas and select the EchoVideo app within the editor Select "Launch Media Picker" Select the media you want to use in Canvas and select Next If appropriate, adjust video upload settings Select Embed, then save or submit in Canvas Need more detail? Delve into the in-depth walkthrough below, complete with images and various notes for every step. Step 2: Select a Media Option Selecting the EchoVideo button opens a menu with a content selection screen, giving you a variety of options to select and insert media. This guide assumes you have either uploaded content to your EchoVideo library, or you have recorded content with the Browser Capture tool. To continue, select the "Launch Media Picker" option. Step 3: Select a Video The Media Picker in EchoVideo displays the audio, video, and interactive media you own. Instructors will also see content from their assigned classes and media from any Collection where they have "Post" permissions. Use the Search box, Sort by, and Filter options to find your media. Once you've selected your media, click "Next." Recently uploaded content can easily be found by Sort by -> Date created. Step 4: Adjust Embed Options Before you submit the video to Canvas, review and adjust video embed options as needed. These settings influence the appearance and functionality of your video within Canvas. Step 5: Submit and Finalize Complete any remaining fields within the embed options, then click the appropriate prompt, such as Embed, Save, Post, or Save & Publish to finalize. Once the item is published or a post is submitted, participants can access it and view the embedded video wherever it was added. If the "Autoplay" or "Start At" options were selected in the embed options, those settings take effect for the viewer. Embed EchoVideo Media in Canvas FAQ My video says 'Not Yet Ready' or is not loading after I finish this process. This applies to larger pieces of content. After uploading, the preview and published versions of the file will show a message that the media is currently processing. Once processing is complete, the embedded media will appear. Connect OneDrive with EchoVideo
EchoVideo allows you to sync your Microsoft OneDrive media with your EchoVideo Library or course section. By subscribing to your OneDrive folders and SharePoint sites, any audio or video media that you add to those folders will be automatically duplicated in your EchoVideo Library or section. This feature includes MS Teams meetings, as all meeting recordings are stored in OneDrive or SharePoint. Note: If you plan to use EchoVideo to share your MS Teams meetings, skip to the FAQ. It's important to note that you don't necessarily need to be using the MS Teams app to set up a OneDrive Subscription. You just need access to a OneDrive installation/SharePoint site where you store your media files. To sync a OneDrive folder to EchoVideo: Log in to Cardinal Apps and open EchoVideo. Open Settings. and select Account Settings to select OneDrive. Select "Add OneDrive Subscription. Select a folder you wish to sync with EchoVideo. Next to the "OneDrive Volume / Folder" column, select the Echo360 section you wish to map that folder to, then save Section Settings. Need more detail? Delve into the in-depth walkthrough below, complete with images and various notes for every step. Step 1 Log in to Cardinal Apps and open EchoVideo. Step 2 Open Settings and select Account Settings. Then, select the OneDrive option on the left side. Note: You must be in Instructor View to see this option. If you do not see the OneDrive option, refer to the FAQ for a solution. Step 3 Select Add OneDrive Subscription. Then, select the OneDrive or SharePoint location to find a folder to sync EchoVideo with. The 'My Files' option is your personal OneDrive. Any other options are SharePoint, Teams, or Group sites you're part of. Select Next to proceed. Step 4 Next, select the folder you wish to sync with EchoVideo. You can select where it syncs to and select more than one folder in later steps, but you can only choose one at a time. Select Save to proceed. Step 5 Now that you've selected the folder to sync with, you'll need to tell EchoVideo where to send the content. The default location is "Library Only," meaning copied OneDrive content is only visible to you and must be shared from there. From the drop-down menu in the right column, select a course section or choose "Library Only" and select "Save Section Settings" to complete the process. Connect OneDrive with EchoVideo FAQ I do not see the OneDrive menu in my EchoVideo settings. You must be in 'Instructor View' to see the OneDrive settings. This may mean you are an administrator or scheduler in EchoVideo. To switch to instructor view: Login to Cardinal Apps. Open EchoVideo. Select your Profile Icon next to the university logo. Select Change Role. Choose "Instructor" from the drop-down menu. How does this sync work with my Microsoft Teams meetings? Meeting recordings in MS Teams are saved in the 'Recordings' folder of the meeting recorder's OneDrive. Although it is not an MS Teams integration, you can use this OneDrive sync process to transfer Meeting Recordings directly to your EchoVideo library. This allows you to edit, trim, and share the recording directly with your class or section. If you are more organized, you can move your meeting recordings to dedicated folders in OneDrive or SharePoint and connect those folders to EchoVideo. Method 1: I organize my recordings outside of the default Recording folder. This method is recommended for instructors who are comfortable organizing recordings in their OneDrive out of their 'Recordings' folder. Instructors following this method will create folders within OneDrive to sync directly to an EchoVideo section. Step 1: Create Course Folders Log in to Cardinal Apps. Open OneDrive. Select "Add New" Select Folder. Provide your folder with a name. Name the folder after the course you're storing recordings for, or something similar to identify the course name and term. (Optional) provide a color for your folder. Repeat steps 3-3c for each course you'll send recordings to EchoVideo. Step 2: Map OneDrive Folders to EchoVideo Now, we need to select the specific folders in which EchoVideo will sync content. Log in to Cardinal Apps. Open EchoVideo. Open Settings. Select Account Settings. Select OneDrive. Select Add OneDrive Subscription. Choose 'My Files' and select Next. You will also see a list of SharePoint/Team/Group sites you have access to. You can pick any folder to sync with EchoVideo, but you must ensure your recordings are moved to the selected folders. Select one of the course folders you previously created. While MS Teams recordings are stored in the 'Recordings' folder, it's not recommended to sync this folder. This will automatically send every meeting recording you have to an EchoVideo location. You want to ensure the folder you're syncing will only contain specific recordings. Next to the "OneDrive Volume / Folder" column, select the Echo360 section you wish to map that folder to. Select Save Section Settings. Method 2: I prefer to send my Teams recordings to the EchoVideo Library before I share them. This method is perfect for instructors who prefer a less complicated way of sending recordings to an EchoVideo section. By following this method, instructors can send their MS Teams recordings to their EchoVideo Library, from where they can be manually published to their respective EchoVideo sections. Step 1: Map OneDrive Folders to EchoVideo Log in to Cardinal Apps. Open EchoVideo. Open Settings. Select Account Settings. Select OneDrive. Select Add OneDrive Subscription. Choose 'My Files' and select Next. Select the 'Recordings' folder. If you do not see a 'Recordings' option, you may not have recorded anything in MS Teams. Navigate to OneDrive, create a folder titled "Recordings" and try this process again. Next to the "OneDrive Volume / Folder" column, set the Echo360 section as "Library Only". Select Save Section Settings. Step 2: Publish Recordings to EchoVideo Sections. Now that all your MS Teams recordings are being copied to your EchoVideo library, you'll need to publish them to a section for students to view. Log in to Cardinal Apps. Open EchoVideo. Select the Library tab. Hover over the recording you want to share and select the three dots menu Select Share. Select Classes. Select Add to Class. Fill out the appropriate fields: Select the course name from the drop-down menu. Select the Term and Section. Select New Class. Provide a Name, Date, Description, and availability for the recording. This is the information that students will experience. Select Done.

Upload Content to an EchoVideo Library
EchoVideo provides Health Profession Schools a lecture capture and video management solution. EchoVideo gives each user a private Library to store and share videos. For example, you can upload a video or a presentation to your library to edit or hold it until you are ready to publish it to a class, share it with another user, add it to a collection, or submit it for a homework assignment. Further benefits of using EchoVideo include: All videos uploaded to EchoVideo will automatically have a transcript and closed captioning applied. EchoVideo is integrated into Canvas, offering a streamlined menu to share content with course participants. Videos can be organized with other files into 'Collections' which can be securely shared with individuals. Currently, it offers unlimited storage space. It can hold various file formats, not just video files. To upload media to an EchoVideo Library: Log in to Cardinal Apps and open EchoVideo. If you're a student, access EchoVideo directly and log in using your UIW email. Once your EchoVideo Library is opened, select Create Select Upload Media Select files to upload. Drag and drop your file into the window, click the window to manually select the file, or choose the OneDrive option to pull files directly from your UIW OneDrive. Select Upload Upload to EchoVideo Library FAQ How can I share EchoVideo content once it's in my library? Share EchoVideo content with a sharing link Share EchoVideo content with your Canvas class Organize your content into Collections to securely share and post Are there any limitations surrounding uploads? File Size Limits: EchoVideo imposes a 20GB file size limit for uploads. If uploading to EchoVideo from a location other than your local computer (i.e., Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, etc.), the FileStack uploader imposes a 220MB file size limit. If your file is larger than 220MB, download it to your local computer first, then upload it to EchoVideo. It must still be smaller than 20GB. Exported Graphics in PDF Format are Not Supported: Some graphics programs will allow you to export or save a graphics file (.png, .jpg, .gif, etc.) as a .pdf file. While EchoVideo will recognize it as a PDF and allow you to upload it, media processing will fail.

EchoVideo Collections
Collections are designed to be collaborative spaces where specific people are brought together to view, post, or otherwise work with the media in the collection. Collections can be formalized, such as a collection created by an instructor who wants to provide video media related to but outside of the scope of the classes in a course. Alternatively, they can be very informal, such as a bunch of senior students forming a "Help" collection, with presentations or interactive media designed to provide new students with information and help on a variety of campus resources or topics. Share Options for EchoVideo Media
There may be times when you want to share an EchoVideo recording with a larger audience than a few classes or a general audience beyond EchoVideo users. You can easily create a share link or embed code. To generate an access link or embed, you can either use the Share workflow from the Library or the Publishing tab of the Media Details page. The options for a link or embed are always the same, regardless of how you generated it. Share Options for EchoVideo Media FAQ What is the "Private" option for a sharing link? Access Links and Embeds can be Public, allowing anyone with the URL to view the media. However, they can be set to Private, requiring anyone who clicks the link to log in to EchoVideo. Private means that only EchoVideo users at your institution can view the linked media. I shared a "Private" link but my students say they cannot view it. As the institution primarily uses Canvas with EchoVideo, the recipient will need to have already accessed EchoVideo through Canvas to gain authentication. As long as they are already authenticated in EchoVideo, by opening the EchoVideo item in their Canvas course, when they click the link, the link will work.

View Shared EchoVideo Content
If someone has shared a piece of media with you, it appears in your media library within EchoVideo. Shared media allows you to view the media outside of a course or classroom, and without the owner sending you a file or a link. This is useful if, for example, the owner wants you to share content with you and nobody else. Like any media in your library, view the Shared media by clicking on the tile. This opens the media in the Media Details page where you can view it. The easiest way to see if something is a shared item or not is to look at the media tile. Whose name appears there? If it's your name, it is your media; you own it. If it is someone else's name, then it is owned by someone else, but viewable by you. To view media that was shared with you: Log in to EchoVideo through Cardinal Apps or the EchoVideo portal directly. If you are logging in via the EchoVideo portal, use your UIW email address to log in. Contact the UIW Help Desk if your email is not recognized. Select "Library" Locate and open the media. Step 1 Log in to EchoVideo. This can be done by opening the EchoVideo app from within Cardinal Apps, or by going directly to the EchoVideo login portal. If you are logging in through the EchoVideo login portal, use your UIW email address and select "Sign In" to proceed. Note: If you receive a "That email does not exist" notice, contact the UIW Help Desk. Step 2 Within EchoVideo, select the "Library" tab. If you are an administrator, you will need to change your role to "Instructor", "Scheduler", or "Scheduler". Step 3 Within the Library tab, you can find your uploaded media content and content shared with you. Like any media in your library, view the shared media by clicking on the tile. This opens the media in the Media Details page where you can view it. View Shared EchoVideo Content FAQ Do I own the content that's shared with me? No, the original owner still owns the content and can stop sharing with you. Also note, this is not a copy of the media. Sharing functions as a link that gives you access to it.
